Co-curricular activities are an important part of the Vidyalaya schedule as they complement the academic programme by enabling well-rounded students. Designed for different age groups within the Vidyalaya, the activities motivate students to develop qualities such as empathy, leadership and responsibility.

Cultural activities are the lifeblood of the institution and alongside the rigorous academic schedule, the Vidyalaya has a demanding routine of co-curricular activities which students may participate in albeit voluntarily.

Important occasions such as Independence and Republic days, Ashadi Beej, Halari New Year, Rakshabandhan, Navratri, Dussehra, Christmas Day, Makar Sankranti, Basant Panchami and Holi – are celebrated with equal joy and enthusiasm by all the students and members of staff. Thursdays are special days when students gather together in loving memory of our eternal Guru and guide, Shree Satya Sai Baba. Two important days that the Vidyalaya observes are November 23, the anniversary of Baba’s birth and April 24, the day that Baba took Samadhi.

Along with celebrations and commemorations, the co-curricular calendar for the year is marked with exhibitions, competitions, fairs, excursions and picnics.

Morning Assembly is an important time for students and staff at Shree Satya Sai Vidyalya. It is a time to express gratitude for the previous day and to seek blessings at the beginning of a new day.

Morning Assembly includes a prayer, the news headlines for the day which is given out by a student, a short story or interesting facts presented by a teacher and finally, the National Anthem or National Song.

There are Rocking Mondays that are a special way to begin the week. Thursdays are the days to honour our Guru through collective gathering and devotional songs.

Thursdays are also the days for the Inter-house Quiz Competition – a fiercely competitive weekly event.
